How do I get music videos on DVD? What does VCD mean?

Without a DVD burner? My car DVD player plays " VCD'S"... what does that mean? I thought it would play a music video in CD format but I tried and it wouldn't work.

Roxio CD Creator 5.0 has the ability to burn VCDs. I don't know what others do. All you have to do (in Roxio) is select "make a video CD" at the opening screen and then add video files you want to put on it. I've made a few that I use in my car.

VCDs are Video CDs. DAT files on a standard compact disc. Inexpensive but low quality compared to DVDs. VCDs were never a hit in the US market, unlike in the Asian market.

DVD and VCD aren't the same thing. VCD is compressed video (MPEG) on a regular CD. obviously you can't hold as much data on a VCD, so the A/V quality suffers alot.

You can use Nero to burn a VCD with an MPEG file using a regular CD burner.

VCDs never were popular in the US, but they are in Asia.

Why are they so popular in Asia? Can I download Roxio or Nero anywhere?

Great, it won't let me burn it. It says that I have to get the Platinum version, which is like $60. Can I burn MP3's by just putting them in the data folder so I can hold a ton, or do I have to use the mp3 option as well?

VCD is capable of about VHS picture quality. I've burned some good ones, and some not so good ones. It all comes down to the quality of the mpeg. I do know that people have downloaded Roxio 5.0 plat off of Limewire.com. Although downloaded copyrighted material is bad and should never be done
