power inverter question

I will be putting in a ps2, and was wondering the best/easiest method to power it. If I was to hardwire the inverter to the cig adaptor, would there still be power flowing when the car is turned off? I don't want to kill the battery. Would it be better to just plug it into the cig adaptor only when using it? The only downside to this I see is it will be kinda ugly... Also what wattage power inverter is best for just running a ps2? thanks, kevin

You could wire a relay with a switch to turn the power on and off. I believe if you tap off of the cig adapter, it should turn off when the car is off (since the line is switched with the ignition). I can't remember, but we have ran a PS2 and a small TV off of I think a 300w. These things can be had relatively cheap now, so I would go a little higher than the 'minimum'
