Amp Problem

Amp Problem

hey, i just put a sub in my car. i had an amp( JL 500/1) already and new it worked. the problem is the power light comes on but the sub doesn't. i tested my old sub and it didnt work either, any HELP, thanks

Did you ajust the sensitivity input (maybe it's set at the minimum level) ?

i checked that but the sub isnt moving at all. i checked the wiring and everything is correct

did u pull the rca plugs to see if u hear a pop from the sub when u do so? if u hear it that means ur getting signal for sure, if u dont then theres either no signal coming through, or the amp is screwed up. also try pulling the fuses out of the amp, and putting them back in with everything off. also inspect the fuses to see that none is blown out.

The JL doesnt have an onbored fuse, could it be the one under the hood, i'll check in the morning, thanks

it COULD, but if the amp is lighting up, then it probably isnt blown. check anyways.

do you have sub woofer controls on your deck? maybe your sub woofer is turned off

well it turns out the amp went bad, i took it to the shop, theyre gonna send it out to get it fixed, thanks for your help
