Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 Questions?
#1
Anybody have any experience with these woofers?
I've had a pair of them for the longest time now
(about a year) but I haven't really been able to
make them boom. After I wrecked my other car, I
haven't used them at all.
Anyway, I was wondering if you guys have ever
compared these subs to any others. Say... a
JL 10W6 or some 10" Solobarics. I'm just curious
because when they were in my G20, they were in
a crappy sealed truck box in the trunk, facing up,
mounted in reverse so that they would fit. The
sealing was horrible, the box had holes, the box
was too big, (.75cF vs the recommended .60cF) and I'm
pretty sure I set up the system wrong. The sound
quality was horrible. YOu couldn't even hear
the bass from outside the car.
I'm not gonna screw up this time with my Maxima.
I have myself a Fosgate 800a4 in my room, waiting
to power the subs (400x2) and I'm going to build
my own box. Any suggestions? I'm unsure if I should
go ported or sealed. Infinity Systems told me that I
should go ported if I want louder sound... but I dunno,
I like the sound of a good sealed box. Anybody hear a Perfect 10 in a
ported box?
Well, I heard that these subs kick ***. From what I've
seen, I know that they do. The subs are huge, beautiful,
and have really really good stats. Can you guys help
me figure out how to make them beat my car to hell?
Thanks a lot guys, I know I talk a lot.

Check out the web site http://www.infinitysystems.com for box specs, to acheive the best sound you need to build the box to spec. Also make sure that amp is about 600watts rms, that should be enough to get that woofer moving.

i paid $100 for each sub but that was directly from infinity. none of you guys here can access that kind of deal. neither can i anymore. im running mtx 1000d to the subs. just visit my webpage. all the pics are there

I looked at your pix of the trunk, the design is pretty
nice... only problem is that the trunk in the 3rd Gen has
that crossbrace in it. Plus if I were to do that, I'd have to build it all myself. (not big into letting other people
work on my car) I was originally gonna mount them in the
rear deck.. That woulda been nice... oh well..

since you already have great subs, i would recommend visiting my webpage and using the same design box that im running for my two 12" perfects. it will pound, and your trunk won't rattle.

The Perfects are great subs, I had two of their 12"s and they pounded. The 10s won't pound as hard, but given the right amp and a good box it'll hit hard. Make sure you build the box to spec, I would build a sealed box, you lose a few db, but...it's much easier, and it sounds best with all types of music.
The only problems I've heard about Perfects is that the tinsel lead breaks off and sometimes the sub blows, but Infinity warrents it all

i had two 10s ported in the trunk of my other car... 97 miata with an MTX black thunder700 (something like that i wasnt a big fan of MTX but it was one of they're good amps sold it for more than i had bought it for)i only had that car for a few weeks before i got a maxima banged pretty good except for trunk rattle...and um the convertible part but i was fairly pleased , i would have rather of used a better , external(active) crossover, instead of the one built into the mtx
