aftermarket HU wired directly to bose speakers
Hey people... I think I'm ready to upgrade to an mp3/wma compatible cd player. I'm thinking about doing a rewire and having the deck go straight to the speakers. If my memory serves me correctly, I remember someone saying the stock bose speakers are at a 1 ohm load. Is this going to adversely affect my stock deck? I plan on getting either an Alpine or Pioneer HU. Any info apprecirated, Thanks in advance.

if you get an aftermarket head unit but are keeping the bose speakers, you should really look into getting a line converter/adapter.
people who have installed an aftermarket hu right into the bose speakers have reported popping noises when they change sources or generally bad sound quality.
the adapter stops the popping noise, and makes the sound come out better (though it would sound even BETTER if you replaced the speakers too).
Check your local audio store or crutchfield. they run like $35 i think.
