Sirius install with stock non-bose head unit

Is there a way to hard wire Audiovox SIRCK1 to stock non-bose head unit? My kit came with FM mudulator, but this way I'm going to lose all that CD quality sound What's the point of paying subscription with this set up? Do I need new head unit with AUX? Or can I use my stock unit? Thanks!

This should be similar to connecting external MP3 players and such. I heard a trick where you can use tape deck input for this. Anyone with experinece care to share some information?

There is no other way to connect this. You have to use the FM modulator.

I read in www.siriusbackstage.com that with the tape deck connection with dud tape you can trick the headunit to play sirius. I am wondering if anyone out there has done this, or do I need to get an aftermarket head unit with AUX input?

You can use a tape to play the radio but you're not going to get the same quality sound. Plus, you're going to have the wire hanging from the radio to the unit.
