Radio Replaced, Now New Clarion Radio Hisses air noises through the speakers even...

hello everyone happy 04 to you all. i recently replaced a bose system on my 1996 nissan maxima. it was broken, so i put a clarion headunit i had from previous years. it works jolly, only thing is is that there is a hissing sound coming fromt he speakers, like some popping noises very few though, and in addition theres sound coming from the system even at 0 volume on the volume control. im baffled if anyone could help i would love them forever. thanks

How did you connect the new headunit to the bose amps and speakers? Sounds like the gain is set too high.

i had a wire harness that connects the fuse cables into the back of the clarion radio, and just plugged in the antenna adapter. it happens even with no antenna in, and i didnt touch anything else. sounds to me also like there is too much power being outputted. how do i set the Gain lower, and is the amp the black box in the dash behind the radio that sais C on it?

Did you use a convertor as manufactured by PAC, Scosche, etc to convert the HU signal to be compatible with the BOSE amp? I have no idea what the consequences of not doing this are, but there's a recent thread that discussed this stuff. You can't just rewire as far I know...
