Component Crossovers

I was thinking about doing an install on my own of MB Quart DSE-216 and DKE 116. Are the crossovers for the DSE's passive or active. Anyone have a step by step of wiring for components for a 2002 Maxima? Can you use the original wires or do you have to run new ones? I don't have the bose system.

factory wiring is substandard for aftermarket speakers and/or amplifiers. Run new stuff - always safer. Not sure about the xovers.

you can use original wires if you gonna power your components off your deck, if you are planning to amp them, rewiring is a must.

components are very easy to wire, hide x overs in the doors or the kick panel, conect (+ - ) wires as labeled, tweeters go into the pillars or for a more custom look you can put them in doors

the wires from the deck go into the x-overs, x-overs split the tweeter and the woofer wire

They are passive. And I strongly recommend an amp for them. MBQ will do the same and go one step further to tell you if you dont there is a very strong possiblity they will blow. HU is not a clean enough signal to run components.
