thoughts on CV subs

I had two HED DVC 12" in my maxima. They sounded great! Lots of boom but still controlled. Plenty of people I know have or had the VEGA series in their rides and they all speak high;y of them. I'm obsessed with the VEGA series subs. They sound incredible, they were reasonably priced and well....BOOM BOOM BOOM!
My question to you guys is...
Are the VMX series comparable to VEGA series subs? Or are any other new CV subs comparable to the VEGA series?
Of course many of us would like the STROKER series but they are just overkill IMO.
I've seen lots of VEGA series subs on ebay and I'm considering buy them....but I just wanted some more opinions on CV subs.

TIA
