Have you downloaded the program called "OEL Screen Saver Studio"? If not it is on http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink2/ . Just make sure to click "English". Otherwise it will all be in Japanese. Also, would you mind sending me what you have? I want to get a good little collection going. IM me at R5a7B on AIM. Thanks.

I have a Premier DEH-P930 which has this capability but requires an external unit (purchased separately) to load the pictures and movies. I just can't bring myself to throw away $100 on a pure toy. I understand with the newer models you can just upload by inserting a CD. Which model do you guys have?

I was wondering if my HU could do OLED upgrades too. I have a DEH-P740. I've searched around and I haven't too much on it.

I have the DEH 750MP and all i do is use that program. Make the lka file and burn it on a cd. Then you take the cd and put it in your cd player, turn it off and hold down entertainment and the #6 button. Then the cd player goes into download mode and puts alittle loading bar across the screen. Thats all you have to do! Works great i'll post some pics of my custom screens later.

I looked around for this model on a few sites, but couldn't find it. Check your box/booklet for it and see if it supports OEL.

thanks. i love it! makes my cdts so clear... even running off the h/u. i know people ***** and moan about using an external amp, but they get plenty loud now. and my friends have put in components and used high end pionner/apline h/u with no problems for years so i dont ever feel the need to put an external amp on them.

I'm pretty sure you can just burn them (in .lka format) onto a blank CD and put it into the CD Player. If you have them as .lkd, you need to convert them with the OEL Screen Saver studio (http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink2/).

I may buy the CL61a's. Do you get good sound just having them run off the Head Unit? How is the bass? And, what do you use for the rears?

yes. i am very very pleased with them running off the h/u. a friend of mine says this is the cleanest system he has ever heard. hes no audiophile but they sound damn good. the midbass is fine. i have 2 10's right now with a small amp and these speakers are so loud i still hear the midbass. i bought the cdt cl6x i believe they are #'d off the zeb.com for the rears. they are $44.95 or close to that and they sound damn good too. such a cheap price. i highly recommend this setup. im sure if you amp the fronts they will sound louder and better, but try them out without it.

http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/specials_speakers.html front components.

http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/CDT_Audio_FullRange.html back 2 ways.

thezeb is a great place. i never buy online anything but i tried them out. if you order by like 4pm tuesday they should arrive by that friday. its fast and free shipping. all the speakers come to pennies under $200 and well worth it. what kind of mids/highs are you running now?

Thanks for the input. They look pretty good, I might just go with them. How is the fit? Also, do you fade the sound to the front?

$12+ tax at my local best buy. if you use that you will have to drill new holes in the door so get at least 1.5" self drilling screws.

well i put the speaker into the mounting kit, put the self drilling screws in the holes where i wanted and then drilled into the door new holes. after trial and error it wasnt bad at all. this was my 1st time doing a car audio install. my speaker cutouts in my 2k2 were actually oval shaped, which made it hard to do. i have no clue why they were oval shape.

wel this was my 1st car audio install ever. me and my friend did it. and we thought we researched alot, but now that i know what do to, it would not be that bad. taking off the door panel takes like 30 seconds now. you have to run new wire from the speakers to the xover, then to the h/u. so that can be fun. but its worth it in the end. when you install components, if you get any, pm me and ill do a "write up" on what to do. but if you get the cdt's it is worth the work.

Hey, thanks a lot for the help. I am pretty sure I am getting those CDT's. Just have to get some $$ in my debit account. I will PM you if I get them.

Are you planning on getting an amp anytime soon for the components?

i have an mtx amp which is 75 watts rms x2 which is perfect for them but im too lazy to install it. its actually f/s with my subs/box. oh and get the cl6x 2 ways for the back, they do make a difference. and for $45 you cant beat it.

That is a good amp. Probably a little more power then I am going to need for my speakers though. I will probably go with a 90-100watt amp.

Did you guys buy new speaker wire with these? If so, what kind did you get and how much?

18 gauge wire from walmart. it was like $5 with tax. you will need blue wire connectors also from there.
