will this cold weather hurt my sub?

Since it's been below 0 for a few days, I am wondering if it's going to do any damage to my subwoofer (I have a Basslink). I always let the cabin of the car warm up before I turn the stereo on and the rear deck is ported so I assume the trunk isn't much cooler than the cabin, but this morning I noticed that the subwoofer volume seemed very low regardless of how much I turned the ****. Am I in trouble?

I don’t think you did any damage, yet.. But the reason the sound was lower then usual is because the surround of the woofer which allows the sub to move in and out freely hardened up from the cool weather, making the woofer more stiff, and unable to meet its full excursion.. That would be my guess..

I agree with Chitwista. I was discussing this on another car audio forum and the replies I got from people that know way more about car audio than I do all said that they run their subs in cold weather all the time and have never had any problems. I have not either.
