HELP, i need a new setup.

I currently have a pioneer hu (DEH-P4400) with 2-12" kicker comp (300watts each) and a 600watt Lanzar Vibe amp.
I want to get rid of the subs to save some space.
I am looking to buy a 600watt or a 800watt setup that will save space.
I was wondering if i buy a 600watt amp with ONE sub, will that sound the same as me having a 600watt amp with 2-12" subs?

and how much do you think i can get for my current setup?

if you get 1 kicker l7 10 or 12 and buy a jbl 600.1 it will sound louder than your current setup.

I want one 12".
so you're saying that 1-12" with a 600watt will sound the same (or better) as 2-12" 600watt setup?? hmm

no. but comparing your setup now to the 1 i mentioned... yes. adding a sub alegedly increases 3db to your sound. but alot of variables are present such as power, box size, box type.

so how are kickers? i had my kicker comp c12 and i had to replace them once because they blew out.
Any other brands that last longer and is cheaper?

and what type of box is recommended for one 12" setup?
should i go with 600watts (i currently have 600watt lanzar vibe)
or buy an 800watt amp?

well that amp isnt high quality, but the comps are the bottom of the line kickers. you take an l7 put 600 watts rms and it should never blow. you need to worry about rms power. the comps are 125 i believe. the l7 is 750 watts rms. i doubt that amp puts out 600 watts rms. what kind of music do you listen to? the box will depend on that and the specific sub. each sub has its own specs you follow.

one sub will not sound the same as 2 especially if you have the same sub and remove one of the two of the same sub. i would suggest getting one high quality sub and one high quality amplifier.... jbl amps are great, and a nice Kicker DVC 12 inch L7 would do just great

sorry to frustrate you guys.. i don't even know what " 1 4 ohm" means..
i do know what an L7 looks like. (haha).. they are the square ones.
ok, so you guys are Recommending me to get a
JBL 600 watt amp with a 12" Kick Solobaric L7 ??
what kind of box is recommend with this setup?

I was wondering if i can get one of those boxes with the clear glass in front of it (i forget the name)
I have a milk crate with "stuff" in it that i carry all the time and they are placed right in front of the subs that are facing the back. So basically the milk crate holds the sub box in its place. (i hope you can picture how my trunk looks like now, a sub box with a milk crate in front of it)

With the current subs that i have now (2-12" kicker comp), the sub's rubber "circle" have marks from the milk crate that rubbed and took a few chunks off of the rubber. and i do not carry Milk in the crate.

well if you get a kicker l7 and the grill that goes with it, there will be no problem with the milk crate. people on audio forums recommend "huge ported boxes" for kickers but ive heard 1 l7 in a small sealed box and it pounded. buy the amp from autotoys.com, or ebay. and buy the kicker on ebay or cbrstereo. ebay charges a flat rate for shipping, which can be god and bad. for instance.. im buying 2 phoenix gold 10s off cbrstereo on ebay. ihs website charges me $50 to ship to fl, whereas on ebay its a flat rate of 40. if you live in cali, buy on the website, if not ebay. as for a box, this one should be fine..
http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/subzo...sub_boxes.html

look at the 12" sealed box. that is a great site with free and fast shipping. as for the sub..
http://www.cbrstereo.com/Merchant2/m...ode=KICKERSUBS

if you live close to cali do it this way, if you dont i can find you one on ebay. and for the amp...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18797

i was going to buy this exact setup except im getting 2 10" subs.
for you total out of pocket is around...$450-500 shipped. you will be booming for sure. this just give you an idea.

the second website shows that the L7 has a peak of 1500 watts.
i thought i was going to run a 600watt amp to it? i really don't want anything above 800watts.
and is it safe to purchase car audio products from ebay?

the rms of the kicker is 750 watts. rms= constant power. peak means nothing. the jbl is 600 watts rms which is perfect for it. it will pound but never blow the sub. i just bought a couple of things from ebay so far so good. but if you dont want the amp from ebay you can get it from....
http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/186

its a good place. where do you live? becuase like i said ebay could be cheaper on shipping, but to me the difference is negligible.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39777 get the L7 from this auction bc its DVC and u can run both coils to the amp and it will give it a full 600 watts rms

Great setup

This will be a great setup.
I purchased a 12L7 with a ~1 cf sealed box from here:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_556.html
The Kicker logo's on the side were not to my taste, so I just re-carpeted the sides with matching black. I think this enclosure makes the sub hit clearly and precise. BTW, I listen to mostly rap, and have a RF 800a2 amp (tested to 936 rms and the sub can take it!!)

You can probably find cheaper. I gave them a call and they were very friendly and helpful. Get the 4ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) so that you can wire it up as a 2ohm load to that JBL 600 amp.

The box is small so you will have alot of space in your trunk

Good luck!

no warranty online. but if you somehow blow a kicker with 600 watts rms your doing something very wrong.
