First install ... wish me luck.

Feel free to add any advice guys. Hopefully this install will go rather smoothly but I still want some input from the org first.

Basically i'll be adding aftermarket component speakers powered by a 2 channel amp hooked up to my stock non-bose headunit.

Is there anything i'm going to need besides wires and a few basic tools?

thanks guys.

it's not bad - all you need to do is hook up a line-out converter and tap accessory for remote turn-on. 5 minute job...

You don't need to buy anything to tap the acc wire (it's the blue wire in your radio harness, IIRC), and you can get the LOC at best buy or circuit city - the one I used to have before I installed a new HU was a "IEC AULOC".

If you can afford an aftermarket HU I would highly suggest it. The money you spent on the components and amplifier wont be used to its full potential with the stock HU. Plus if your HU doesn't play cdrw's and mp3's, you'll be able to.

No money for a HU. I have to fix other things on the car including body damage. I bought the comps outta necessity since one of the speakers blew. The ultimate goal is to get the car in good working order and then sell it.
