Desperately Need Audio Install Help--DC Area

I am going to try a couple of shops to see if they can put my stereo in, but I wanted to put this out there to see if anyone can help me. I am going on a trip Friday evening so I need to get it done either today sometime or Friday durring the day. I have an eclipse H/U and changer and they were working fine until I pulled them out tonight. I was trying to add on the eclipse navigation unit. When I put it all back in, the entire system no longer has power. Everything is pre-wired now, I just need someone to trouble shoot the problem, hook it all back up and put it in for me. I checked al my connections and my fuses and I can't figure out what the problem is. I am willing to pay whatever is fair for this. I can also help out if that makes it easier. I'm in northern va, but I can drive a reasonable distance if need be. If anyone can help me please feel free to call me at (703) 728-4685. Or, if you someone can recommend a good shop that would work too. Someone please help!!

I havn't used eclipse yet but it may be the security system built into the eclipse. You may need to insert the disc that is essentially the security key. Try tappout. He is also local and may have worked with eclipse in the past.

Tappout sat to your left and I sat accross from you at the meet a couple months ago. The meet with the horrible beer and equal waitresses.

yea, I used to work for a shop that sold Eclipse. I know that is has nothing to do with the security system in the head unit. thanks for the quick reply!

I would go back, double and triple check the ground, power and accessory power wires. The entire length of the wires. If you have a multimeter you could start the check at the back of the headunit. A power or ground wire or a fuse could easilly have come loose when you were moving stuff around. If your hands are as numb as mine in this weather it might be hard to tell if the wires are connected at all.

Drew,

First thing I would do...is unhook the navi system u just put in and see if your system powers up. There could be a short or something in that causing the entire system to shut down...after doing that if it works...u know your navi is screwy, if its still dead, then you can almost eliminate the navi, next you move onto making sure all connections are secure. I don't know if you have a continuity checker..but make sure, that the equipment is properly grounded..that is key! then check your speaker connections and power and all that good stuff again. Sometimes, we miss stuff even after checking and double checking.

good luck
