not great...i hope ur not looking for a bandpass and that was just a question about the subs

bandpass suck?

I have a budget of $180 to spend in total, so which sub+box can i get for that amount...? I already have a sony 800 watt amp

yea gives horrible bass, sound like one loud note....im in NYC also..i have a slightly used Kicker Comp VR sub 12" that would be perfect for ur budget..i dont have a box for it anymore, but i can make one for you....lemme know if ur interested...its a great sub...and irt was mine so it wasnt abused...i replaced it with a more beefy soundstream sub...i can give it to u for $120 with the box

bandpass usually gives great spl but craprific sound quality. plus, it's harder to notice when your subs are begging you to turn it down since distortion is harder to hear with a bandpass.

how bout compared to a sealed, which produces best overall quality?

depends on what kind of bass you want. sealed boxed are good for sound quality. the bass is nice and punchy and less boomy than a sealed or bandpass box.

please don't buy bandpass i blew a pioneer premier 10" because i was newbie at one time and didn't know better

if you're going for 2 12's i have a nice sealed box i can sell for $45 = shipping or if anyones interested it's nice and big about 1.2 cu ft. per chamber
