Interference from blower????

Got an audiovox alarm/remote start installed a few months ago. Along comes winter and I notice a big problem: The system doesn't respond well to the transmitter when the fan is on! It depends on the fan speed, with some interference on the lowest fan speed, and virtually no response from the system on the highest fan speed. So if I leave the climate control on auto, I'm stuck outside my car in the morning unless I manually open the door with the key and disengage the alarm. The audiovox techs tell me that the fans operate at the same frequency as the transmitter and therefore cause interference. Is that even possible? Anything I can do about this?

The fan can't spin as fast as the frequency of the transmitter. That's just not feasable. I would check your fans ground to make sure it is clean and secure. And I would check the grounding point for the alarm. If they are shareing the same grounding point reground the alarm somewhere else. Wires corode and come loose over time and the resistance of the connection increases. Increased resistance causes voltage drop and an increase in current. The result is more noise / interference. Car horns have an historically bad rep for system noise.

I'm not too familiar with car electronics. Where approximately would I find the fan ground?
