I have a 96 SE, i like it but dont know how much more life is left in it, plus im not currently working so these are just PLANS. I want to change the system around, but i need your opinions cause i know nothing about screens and TVs. The only brands i know is for the speakers, for everything else brand must be suggested to me based on your experiences, prices dont matter. This is what i want to do.....

In dash TV, fixed not motorized in place of my BOSE, under a CD player in the space before the ashtray. I forgot to add that i would prefer a touchscreen, not absolutely necessary though. Please give me opinions on what brands are best for TV and CD player, also want to put TV behind the headrests but not into the headrest, but with a bracket to hold it firmly pressed, i dont want to cut the leather.

All (2 front door, 2 rear deck) will be replaced with Boston Acoustic Z6. I will fit 2 5.25 speakers of the same kind in the rear doors (no speakers are there from factory). Tweeters will be installed in factory place for front door speakers, middle pillar for rear door speakers and where the rear seat belt comes out from for the rear deck speakers.

The 4 door speakers will be controlled by an amp mounted under the front driver seat. Under front passenger seat will install a DVD/MP3 player. Also considering some kind of navigation.

Another amp will power the 2 deck speakers and a newly installed 8" or 10" woofer in the middle of the rear deck.

In the trunk i want to put 2 12s or 15s with a 1000W or more amp to vibrate this biotch so that it cracks pavement.

Please suggest brands for subs, amps, TVs, radio, no matter how much. What adapters or plugs will i need to get all this working. Also do i really have to rewire all the speaker to the HU if i have bose in there from the factory? Is it really worth it to dynomat this whole thing?

 

How much do you want to spend? That would help us with your project. How many miles are on your car? For the tv's I'd say go with redmax. He is currently having a gf on them and they are great quality. Under the tv you should put a hu that plays dvds. It will save you sapce and money. I think Pioneer makes one that is cheap and good. Components would be good for the front. Our car has 6 1/2 in front and back. I'm confused with what you want to do with the amp. All you need is a 4 channel amp and you can even mount it in the trunk. That will cover all four speakers. And putting a woofer in the middle of the rear deck is going to be a lot fo work. For subwoofers I would suggest Elemental Designs. There subs are great quality. You can find there products at edesignaudio.com. They also sell amps, the Tsunami 1100 would be good for what you need. And you might want to dynomat parts of the trunk for less rattling.

well for the subs, i dont know if you will be able to find em but the Orion HCCAs are some of teh ebst speakers out there. teh bostons are nice, but focal has a new line out that's higher than the utopia line and jl just came out with a component set better than their XRs. it's the ZRs i think.

some more subs i would recommend are the Adire Brahma 15"s check em out for yourself. those could smash some pavement that's for sure

theres always teh JL13W7s those are some more great subs with perfect balance between spl and sq

as for teh HU, any unamped eclips with 8v rca-out should do more than the trick. also alpine makes some fine displays for your screen.

 

First off, what is a "tobay fest"? Secondly, im trying to stay with big names cause i can get them used more easily. I dont want to buy new stuff cause i dont have the money. I dont want an hu that plays DVDs cause that more expensive. If i get a regular CD/am/fm hu and get a DVD player under the front seat to play MP3s also it would be much cheaper. Like i said, big names because i can get those parts used cheaper from someone i know that uninstalls them from lease returns.

 

keep in mind if you buy used speakers you can run into serious problems. speakers need to be properly broken in with clean watts to perform their best. and of course, virtually everything with electricity going through it is going to die after a certain amount of time. if you must have used speakers definately find some HCCAs. stay away from brands like fosgate, audiobahn, pyle, pyramid..... crossfire makes good amps too. Seriously consider the Adire Brahmas if you have the power for them(1600Wrms 4800Wpeak). if you still want great sound for a little less Adire makes another great sub, the Tempest. if you want to stick to big names pretty much the only ones i can recomment are JL and Eclipse for subs. for components Focal will probably treat you the best if you can shell out the $1200 for the top of the line speakers jl XRs are great too also check out CDT. basically you really need to hear all these before you amke a decision. definitely go eclipse for all your HU parts and make sure to get an unamped head unit. you will get the cleanest sound possible with the 8v preamps. good luck and make sure you ahve a lot of money before you embark on this. DO NOT cheap out on the stuff. you will jsut regret it i promise.

 

so the focal or jl XRs are better than mb quarts or BA Z6s? Also, is eclipse the only brand to make unamped units, honestly i never even heard of unamped units. Where do u think i can hear all these, i know stores like circuit city and best buy dont sell such quality stuff

 

if you wanna crack pavement get 2 12" kicker l7's with a jbl 1200.1. otherwise if you want some sq 2 15" pg ti subs should do you good. 189 plus shipping on ebay for both.

 

hehe most anything from best buy and circuit city is crap. the Adires you will probably have to go to a competition to hear, but the focals and eclipses you can hear at most car audio specialty stores. look in the phone book and call around. also, the guys that work there will often fill your head with crap to selly ou stuff. dont buy anything without researching it first.

 

whoa, jl 13w7 are some expensive muda$%#$ers, i dont mind the price but are they worth it? I dont even know how much new but i see them going for $400 used.
