Ideal System for a 92....Unlimited Funds?

Quick question....i got connects(via family) to big discounts at Best Buy. What would be the best stuff to get from there. Discounts include things like lower price, no installation fees, etc. So if you can, give me some ideas...Thanks.

hehe alright here goes:

2 Adire audio Brahma 15"s $1000.00(2)
Harrison Laboratories 10,000 Watt "DB DRAG" Amplifier $3000.00
Unamplified Eclipse CD8053 $550.00
Focal Utopia 165W3 3-way comp speakers $1100.00
JL audio E6450 (? not released yet)
of course deaden the entire car $300.00?
You'll definately need a 230A+ alt and a few stinger 5+ farad caps

I know theres some stuff i'm missing, but thats all i could come up with off teh top of my head right now.

that would end up as a 10k+ system though. not a daily driver if you get my drift

Although you can purchase "better" equipement at other stores beside Best Buy, you will find that they carry name brand items that, if installed correctly, will sound great. It's all about the install man! Concentrate on getting the equipment you know will provide the features and results you are looking for and you should be happy.

Don't buy any of their pre-made sub boxes unless you can verify that the box is made specifically for the woofer it's mounted in. I'm not familiar enough with BB to know if their boxes are tuned for the specific speaker.

Anyone have any opinions on their installations? I was under the assumption that pretty much any big-box electronics retailer have fairly inexperienced installers. I could be wrong.

yeah, i've had friends who had best buy install their stuff, and they didn't do a very good job. i've had to redo a couple installs. so i tell people to never let best buy install. even one of my friends who worked at a best buy said they don't do a good job. BUT i guess it depends on the installers too. maybe the ones around here suck.

Best Buy is the lat place I'd get my audio equipment. Not a good idea to ahve it installed. But if I had to get it fom there I would get a Pioneer DEH-P8500M, best rockford subs they have, rockford 2 ch amp for speakers, mono rockford amp for subs, and pioneer or rockford speakers. Good Luck

the only reason to get car audio equipment at best buy is if it's for free. and even then don't let them install it. 2 of my friends have had their car stereos/speakers/subs installed there ind i had to almost completely redo the installation. that's not to say they're bad installers, it's to say that they just don't care. and anyway, what best buy would charge for their top of the line fosgate system, you could get at least a better JL system for the same price or maybe even less. WAY less if you build and install it yourself and order components of ebay. remember, there is only so much you can do with low-grade equipment even with a perfect install.

First of all, I've never purchased anything from Best Buy because they don't offer anything that meets my needs. However, I just browsed their website and saw several decent-quality products that, if installed correctly, would meet the needs of any average listener. Second, I would not recommend to ANYBODY to purchase electronic items off eBay because you will probably have NO manufacturer warranty. Yes, you could save money this way and many people have had good luck, but I suspect many people have had poor luck as well, especially with customer service after the sale!

As far as installation goes, I agree...I would not let Best Buy do the installation. However, most people are not patient enough to correctly do the install themselves.

there is not so much risk in ebay as there used to be. i buy all my car audio stuff from ebay and have never had a problem, so do 2 of my friends. there is always the risk though, but unless the item is labeled NR, you can usually get your money back through ebay buyer protection or paypal. yes, you are right about best buy having products that would sound fine to the average listener, but best buy and circuit city's prices are usually unreasonably through the roof from my experience as well. $60 for a pair of lightning audio 6x9s jeez... i got my alpine type-s 6x9s from tweeter for $60. what i'm getting at is that for the price of a best buy system you could pay the same and have better components and a better install at a car audio specialty store and a fraction of the cost if you shop around and learn how to do it yourself, you will always be happier and feel much better about it if you take the time to learn about it yourself too. but like Tony Fernandes said, if you are just an average listener, then you will most likely be happy with what you get.

You could put a decent system together from Best Buy.

Nice HU, Components up front, 3-ways in the back, Amp for the interiors, Amp for the subs, 2 12's are ideal. You could make it happen.

Best buy sucks a big fat di ck, but none the less good luck with this and your "deal" SInce you have unlimited funds, your looking at about 100,000 retail value to make the "ulitimate". Good luck bud.

What i meant about the Unlimited Funds was that the price has no limit but it has to be at Best Buy for me to get that. I also got a phone call today saying that my application for working there was approved and to come in for a meeting. So, this will cut out the factor of me worrying about something messing up. I can do it or supervise it. Any other suggestions?

you may save some $$ from Best Buy, but if you want Quality Products, don't get it from Best Buy.

I dont' care how much you get off of retail, you still dont' have unlimited funds, no one can. Even Bill gates has a limit all be it really high.

Dont' take this wrong, in the end I hope you get what your after, but your making large statements.

Uh, since he knows he's going to buy everything at BB, then he does have unlimited funds. You can't spend $100k at BB on a car audio system.

I second everyone else who suggested a higher end MP3 capable Pioneer HU and rockford AMP/SUB combo. The weak link in your system might be the speakers, although I guess RF is decent for that too.

Good luck...the install will entirely depend on the guys in the shop. I know a guy that works at CC that does very professional work. But he might be a diamond in the rough.

does best buy carry alpine? i can't remember. if they do, you could put together a pretty damn good system. i might be thinking of circuit city though. best buy does have some sleek pioneer HUs though i know that.
