my first REAL system

I'm planning out my first system and i'm looking for some advice. I've already replaced my HU and speakers. I've got a sony cdx-m630 HU and pioneer 3-way 6.5" oversized coax all around. I'm planning on intalling the following:

2 JL 12" w3v2s
4 guage wiring just to be sure
600watt amp for the subs
300watt amp for the components
DA/Focal compenents for the front
Pioneer coax in the rear
Custom enclosure

I'm not sure what amps to use and i'm also torn between focal and diamond. I've heard the motorsport 5s and i liked them alot, but i've never heard focals and have heard only good things about them.

I'm also installing a microvision screen and a pyle dvd player w/ tv turner. I'm planning on installing some a/v ports in the rear for game systems and my laptop. I was thinking about getting a gameplate kit since it comes with a power inverter and ports pre-installed. I was thinking about getting an a/v switch with multiple outputs so i could hook up more screens if i decide to add them. Are the gameplate kits worth it since the power inverters are only around 80watts? and is it worth it to get something fancy like pioneers a/v selector?

All comments are welcome.

if you want a jl amp a 500/1 would do the w3's well. 300watts rms is plenty for the mids/highs imo.

Nice plans. Are you going ported? Make sure you show us some pics when it's all done.

For the sub amp, get the PPI PCX-1500. They can be found on ebay new for about 350 shipped. With your JL subs get the 12w3v2's wiht dual 2 ohm voice coils. That way you car wire each sub down to one ohm and then run them together for a final 2 ohm setting for the amp.

exactly what he said. also, dont get the pioneer coaxes for the back. get the same model focal that you're getting in the front for the rear except maybe teh coax version. nice plan for your system man! i wish i had a set of 12w3v2s, but soon as i get $400 im building a 4 sub enclosure with a fiberglass top to make it look nice and 4 JL 12W0s so that should sound nice too. about the enclosure, are you building it yourself? i would recommend you do so you can build it exactly to the manufacturer's recommendations. those w3v2s don't need to be ported as you sill get beautiful accuracy and awesome spl from a sealed box.

good luck building it man. oh yea, one more thing. i recommend 1/0awg wire for anything over 700w so you should probably go that route. leaves some room for expandability too.

4awg is plenty IMO. I think you should spend a little more on sub amp, and just get a nice 2 channel amp and run the rears off the deck, its just rear fill for the peeps in back. That is what I did. Sounds like a damn good system though!

As of right now I thinking about going with Phoenix gold amps and wires. I'm looking at the Ti 1000.2 for the subs and the Ti 600.2 for the front speakers and I plan on running the rear of my hu like Jr said. I am still undecied about what speakers to get for the front though.

I was wondering, to anyone who has a fan colling their amps, where did you take the power from. I dont want to overload my cig lighter fuse with too many things. I already plan on hooking up my screen, dvd player and power inverter all on the same line.
