Hey guys I got my Escort 8500 and ZR3 Laser Defense system in the mail, I got it installed with pictures on Monday. I will have pics up soon but so far...

how many of org members have the ZR3 Laser shifter / or any other Laser jammer type system? What experiences have you had with it?

I got this setup since Laser is used about 85% of the time around my area. Since regular radar detectors pick up laser when laser has already gotten your speed.

a day after I installed it I came across a speed trap and the system read "F Laser" with a loud warning, and about 1320-1400 ft away I see this cop around the bend with a Laser gun aiming at other cars... the system was picking up signals from the laser gun even though it wasnt aimed directly at me... as I got down the street, I see the Cop aim the Laser at me... the Readout said "F Laser.....SHIFTING.....F Laser... SHIFTING... meaning i guess its jamming the signal... usually laser takes 1/3 of a second to nab ya... but it had to be SHIFTING this laser for 10 seconds... i manually turned the unit off... since i wasnt speeding anyhow.. then the officer stopped aiming at me as i got near him, he gave me a look, then proceeded to aim for other cars...

I recommend this item to any driver who speeds once in a while like me unknowingly... I drive on the highway ALOT... and 2-3 hr drives, you kinda get a little heavy and go 8-10 over easily.

I have the SR1 stealth installed in my max, and I have been thinking about picking up the laser shifter, but I have only seen laser used twice in the last year I have had it. I have also only seen laser in high rent/residential areas. Every cop on the highway uses radar around here. The other problem is that detectors are illegal here in VA, so we have to keep a low profile. But I have heard nothing but good things about all the products from Escort. I just bought the GT2 performance computer from them, and it is awesome.

sure they do! they have their own controller... just use it along with your current detector... but I'd advise you to research your detector VIGOROUSLY! THEY ARE NOT ALL CREATED EQUAL
