What would you do in this case?

Going to buy a Shiva Sub.

Which amp to power my crystal csc60s comps and the sub?

Soundstream EGA4160 (139 + shipping millionbuy.com)
80x4 RMS @ 4ohms
320x2 RMS @ 4ohms Mono bridged

US Acoustics USB4085 (used. 105 shipped) or (used. 135 shipped + 3 year warranty)
85x4 @ 4 ohms
240x2 @ 4ohms bridged

soundstream would power comps and sub.

us acoustics 4085 would power comps and maybe some rear fill coaxs in the future. I would use my current usb 2080 to power Sub.

the cl6x are 40 watts rms 80 peak.
the cl6x can be run frim the h/u and be fine. the question is.... if those amps are at 4 ohms, which is hwat you need for the comp and sub, are you gona run 1 channel for the comps and 1 for the sub? if thats even possible. id use that other amp you have (pending the power on it) to run either the sub or components, and use whichever amp has the most power at 4 ohms to run the sub.

Well it looks like it's gonna be a 15inch Tempest sub for me.

As for the amps, they're both 4 channel amps. So two the comps and two to the sub.

But since I can run the Cl6x from the headunit, I can probably get buy with just buying another two channel amp and power the sub with it. Maybe 300 - 400 watt amp 600 - 800 total.

Any suggestions.

The tempest needs a big box. But is very efficient. You need an amp with good power, 300 - 800 RMS for the sub at a 4 ohm load. The sub could sound great with 100 watts or less but you will enjoy it more with more power. There aren't many 5 channel amps that have good output to the 5th sub channel with a 4 ohm speaker. The components don't need a huge amp and the rear fill is fine with HU power.

Yeah I heard pretty good things about the tempest. I think I can get pretty good SQ from a sealed enclosure. Hopefully it won't break my trunk.

I'm looking at 600 watt 2 channel amps so I can send 300 per coil. Want to find something affordable.

i am getting the soundstream ega 4220 to power my sub alone its a 4 channel amp that i'll have run bridged to send a mono load to each voice coil on my sub. if i had the option you do, i would get the soundstream amp i've always had good experiences with them and the sound quality is great... and the prices on the ega series amps is great right now good luck

Cool thanks for the heads up. Are you going to be going through millionbuy.com to get your soundstream?

Yeah a decent sized 2 channel would work well. Bridged into 4 ohms you should have a good amount of power. Or a good mono sub amp. Most of the mono sub amps are class D and much more efficient. I know that the JBL crown series are designed to work with a 4 ohm load. They are a bit more expensive than some other amps but the build quality and RMS power is much better than comparatively priced amps.
