XM Antenna placement

I currently have my antenna placed on my rear deck of my max. Would my reception be much better if I placed it on the roof?

I'm also concerned about the summer, when all the trees fill in. I get some dropouts now with the antenna on the inside. I'm hoping that putting it the roof may solve this issue.

I had better reception when I had it on the trunk lid. Now I have it inside on the rear deck because it looks ugly outside the car. Only difference I think I notice inside vs out is that when It was outside, I could listen to it when I was parked in the garage but now It only plays some of the time while in the garage. When im driving its fine no problems
