Microvision 7 inch Screen....in a 5th gen?!?!?!?

thats right guys. Thanks to a great deal from Redmax...I've decided to pioneer a bit. Guys with a GXE dash...the microvision screen fits nearly PERFECTLY.
I had to cut a bit of the trim of the screen..and unfortunately its not quite as TIGHT as the 4th gen, so it's gotta be glued in, or I have to figure out a way to hold it in with some sort of brace. Here are some preliminary pictures....
the only thing left to do is figure out where im putting my source(Pioneer dvh 5000mp)

ps...Don if ure reading this, expect an IM/PM from me soon

Where did you get the microvision screen from? I can't find any links to places that carry this screen. How is the quality it provides? Features?

Yes, keep us posted, if you can figure out something decent, I would be interested in copying your stuff. BTW what is the difference in the SE and GXE trim.

no prob...the gxe kit offers the trim around a single din and a pocket....whereas the SE brings a double din unit that extends all the way flush on the console...

unless your hu plays dvds....an external dvd play will be required....easily fit in glovey or under seat....or can be custom mounted in the cupholder area.....

screen has video in......from dvd player which has audio out into HU aux for sound

Got it. So this is just for playing DVD's in the car and not controlling the HU or anything like that.

You guys should check out www.mp3car.com , there are a lot of guys running headunitless. Using a trunk mounted pc with an fm tuner, these guys have it all. Dvd, mp3, vcd, divx, gps, games, internet, etc. I built my setup for only $400 cad, including the 7" monitor.

I'm thinking I'm wanting to keep my stock Bose HU. Is a FM modulator all I need to get sound from my Xbox? Will a FM modulator work with the stock Bose HU?

Yes it will, but where would your radio go?

Well I've changed my mind on keeping the stock HU. I was going to make something to fit my HU and Xbox under the glove box off the floor but I won't be able to reach it so I'm going to get something with a remote. Thanks though.

Here's my thoughts..

I have an indash 7" screen in my car and a kenwood MP3 deck with an x-box in the trunk.. I have torn my dash apart numerous times over and over,..

I think i am going to take apart the 7"indash screen, and mount it permenantly into the schoshe POS kit i have.

For my Kenwood, i think i found a place where it will fit nicely..

Under the climate control, wher eyour cigerette ashtray is, you can custom mount the deck there.. there is more than enough room behind there.. You just have to make a trim out of fiberglass which is not that hard...

I am going to start this in the summer when the temps are warmer, while i am doing my custom fiberglass trunk as well..

That guy did way too much extra work. He could have just went under where he mounted the TV. I cant count how many 5th gen Accords I did like that.
