00 Stock Bose Sub Dead

I just bought my Maxima and now noticed that the rear sub doesn't play. I checked all the conections and they appear to be hooked up fine. My question is has anyone had any experience with this. Is there fuses within the Bose sytem that can blow. Also if the sub is blown would it just not work or still operate only sounding bad. I also remember reading about people having problems with pins on the back of the HU. Any help would be appreciated in getting this to work.
