radar detector - custom install pics?

All,

Looking to buy a radar detector, but want to see what folks have done in terms of a custom install...

- hard wire is key, but also anyway to hide the detector from the cops visuallly would be great too!

- post 'em if you got 'em!

thanks,

das

I have never really noticed any decrease. I use it behind a darker tint in my truck and it seems to work fine.

hmm, interesting. i want to install my detector where you have yours, but i'm afraid if it decreases the range, i'll find out too late (when i get pulled over)

i'll probably put it up there anyways though... thanks for your reply

You're welcome. Just experiment with temporarily mounting it behind the tint strip and underneath it. I use mine there because it makes it harder for people to see while my vehicles are parked. Also, the passenger can still use the sun visor if needed.
