ported or sealed ??

ported or sealed ??

basically ill be running a rockfordfosgate 700s amp bridged to the power acustik 12 fubr -12.. heres the link.. http://www.poweracoustik.com/products/subs/fubr.html .. im unsure wht to do.. i have never used a ported box.. adn since im downsizing to one sub and bridging the amp .. thought id try to get feedback..


u think this setup id good..???

i think that the recommended ported enclosure is small enough that you should go for it. as for the quality, i can't say.

You don't have to use a ported box, it's all up to personal preferences. Sealed boxes are usually tight and punchy, and ported boxes usually yields more spl than a sealed box. Not sure on the quality of those subs, but from what I've heard in people's cars, they can get pretty loud.

I have mine sealed, most of my setups are nowadays. If you like the tightness, then go sealed. Also, the way you set up the box changes your power handling as well

With the demension requirements given per their website, you'll need a pretty large box for a ported design. For 1 - FUBR-12, the box is going to need to be 16"x16"x16" roughly to meet those requirements. Any design ideas yet?

im only using one so the design is goin to lack b/c two would be alot nicer and easier to setup up. i just hav e a few ideas but nutin will hpen in the design aspect till summer. im just tryin to get it to work. anyone have a seperate amp powering the interiors.. ive got and planning on using a rockord fosgate 301x for my infinity kappa components and reference speakers...

I have an Eclipse EA-3422 4 channel that powers my JL Audio door speakers and an MTX 2160 that powers my 3 JL Audio 8w6's.
