nope, but I've made some door pods that replace your map pocket..

I can't make another set until this sumer due to the time involved, but the price is $400- which includes covering them in vinyl to match your car.
think that's steep? try going to a car audio shop and have them build you a set. you'll be asked to pay more than double that.

but here's pics if you're interested:

I can actually make the door pods and the kicks myself the kicks are a little harder though because of the angles that they have to be directed though, so thats why i'm trying to see if anyone has anythat they already have for sale. Q- forms doesn't make any for our car either and i'm wondering if thats because theres a problem with them in our car.

When I called Q-forms a couple years ago, they said they didn't have any because of the lack of room down there. They said it was too much trouble. Also, the Q-forms aren't sealed, but opened back.
Hey Matt, what is the internal volume of the enclosures? Just curious, as I'm thinking about building a pair for my 4th gen...

These are the pods I took to finals back in october:

I have another set that are simply baffles and fit behind the door panel. they worked okay, but the doors rattled and bass sucked- even when I sealed the door skin with dynamat and plywood sheets.

I have the same problem with weak bass in the doors of my 3rd Gen as well Matt. I've had BA pro's in there and they sucked. Seems to be better with my current DEI Studio's but I'm hoping it will be much better with my 8" Dynaudio's....

Canuck, do you have anything that would help me build some of those? or do you want to sell em? I really like them. Matt i like the ones in your door as well but i don't want to loose my map pocket and i want to put 8" in my doors

I'm going to be rebuilding new kicks, but these are kinda hacked up a bit from trying to fit my DEI tweeters in (large frame on them). If you really want them I'll send them to you for the cost of shipping but they will need a little bondo and a repainting job.

just don't expect that to happen in a hurry though. if you want to discuss how to do your own you can email me or hit me up by ICQ.....

Next time I'll do a better job at taking some progressive pics so that it explains things better.

If you want to put 8's in the door, you're going to lose your map pocket. I took mine out back in september, and I haven't missed them yet. throwing stuff in them when I did have them just caused more buzzes and rattles.

With these sealed pods, I don't have nearly as many problems with buzzing and stuff, but there's still some. I need to remove these pods and do some more bracing on the back.

and BTW.. these are about 1/2 cu. ft. sealed on each side. perfect for these Focals, will easily for for an 8" too.

In fact, I think the ring I made to mount the speakers on the front of these was 8". hmmmmmmmm ;-)

as was said (and seen by Canuck's install), kickpanels are possible, but you can't go much over 5.25" down there, and your bass response will suck. If you wanna do it right, you're going to have to have a 6.5" or bigger somewhere else up front to supplement the little bass you'll get out of the 5.25".

You should be able to make them with $50 materials. These were a bit more because kevlar was used instead of glass, but it was scrap material. So I considered it free.

Matt:

He does have the option of fitting 8" drivers in the doors on an MDF Baffle and spacer ring and save his map pockets as well. They would have to be very shallow 8's though something like Dynaudio MD170's, Illision Audio ND8's or the more affordable DEI Directed Audio Studio series 3084 8" midbass.

I agreee on the kicks though no bigger than 5.25" unless he's willing to give up on his dead pedal and build a sealed enclosure.

i *attempted* to make an enclosure for my illusion carbon 6" ,got passenger side pretty much done and the front curve was to thick, i need to cut the curve down and rebuilt it with fiberglass, would rather be doing it for 8"s but, i had the 6"s already from stock fitting ,also spec on them is less>> .3cu feet

not the prettiest but it's behind door panel who cares ;]

Just wanted to correct one of my posts. I've found out that the Dynaudio MW170 8" won't fit on a MDF plate and clear the window mechanism. I'll be building an MDF angled baffle to mount mine so that it protudes into the space remaining behind the factory grille.

That is unless I decide to just go with a sealed door pod as Matt did.
