front left speaker not working

for my installation (new h.u., new speakers, no amp, no sub) everything has powered up, and runs, except for the front left component speaker, and the left tweeter barely plays any sound

however, when i tap the component with my finger, it pounds, and i can hear the resonating sound coming from the back somewhere.

anyone know waht the reason for this is?

i tried switching the (+) and (-) on the component, yet, same result
