Cell phone interference ? ?
I just installed a new blaupunkt HU in my 2002 non bose. I also installed the pac-swi-x adaptor. Twice today on my trip home I got a loud hum through my speakers just before my cell rang. Anyone else ever encounter this.
Note: I used to get a little bit of a ticking noise on my stock stereo with my old nextel, but nothing this loud or annoying. Also I got the hum once or twice this past week when I wasn't using my cell phone, could that be someone in the car next to me? ? I have a samsung flip phone (I forget the model).
It just scared me and I thought I screwed something up installing the HU, until I noticed the cellphone correlation today. Any ideas ? ?

it happened in my old car and it was kind if a blessing. because if i didnt hear that hum in the speakers i would never hear my cell phone ring with the system up. i guess its the speakers or the radio? how long did it take you to install t he pac and where did u mount it?

The noise is caused when your phone ring because when there is an incoming call your phone receives an amplified signal which your the Amp in your radio or the one linked to your sub also picks up. Once the call has ringing has ended it will stop. There is no real way to stop this, but it does not do any damage to your system.
