as of right now i have 8 guage wire. im plaining to upgrade my amp to a more powerful amp. as of right now the rms is 300 and 600 peak the new amp is 500 rms and not sure about peak. do u think i need to change my wires to 4 guage????

I'd go ahead and run a 4 guage. That leaves you room for more future upgrades.
Also, any generic 4 guage power cable will do fine, as long they're oxygen free copper.
