Dual Sub Conversion

Bear with me because I'm a newbie when it comes to car audio. I need to know if it's possible to replace my 2 12" subs with 1 using my current wiring. I just don't see how only one would hook up to the amp the same way. Would i have to cross the wires that are split for 2 to be able to hook it up to my amp right? If I suck at explaining this let me know and I'll try to explain it differently. Thanks for your help!!

ummm yea....

You gotta rephrase this mess; try drawing a diagram if you can’t explain it.

just bridge the amp into one channel for the one sub. there should be markings on the amp telling you which terminals to use for a bridged setup.

You have to make sure the sub can handle the increased RMS power and what ohm the amp is stable down to when bridged.

Can you be more be little more specific on amp and sub?
