12v?

I'm installing some CCFL(cold cathode flouresent lights, similar to neons) lights in my car later this week and I was wondering where do you guys take your power from besides the cig adapter. Right now I have my microvision screen and dvd player on it and i plan on adding a 170watt power inverter in the near future. I don't want to pile everything onto that one line so I was wondering where some other 12v sources were that would be safe to use. I was thinking about using the dome light.

On a side note, I'm thinking of hooking up the lights to a relay so they turn on with my headlights. Should i use an automotive relay like bosche or will a simple non auto relay from radio shack do? I don't want to tap into the headlights directly.

DO NOT RUN YOUR POWER INVERTER FROM THE CIG LIghter(sorry bout caps) that inverter will have to be run directly from the battery or you will just pop fuses like its nothing. thats what happened to my friend and now he just runs from the positive terminal from the battery just like me and everything works perfect. the inverter and what ever u hook to the inverter(PS2, Xbox, laptop) uses alot of power. buy the inverter which has the terminals on the side so you can hook it up to battery. dont purchase the one where the cig lighter is already built in, it leaves no room for upgrades. my 400 watt inverter was 34 and worth every penny.

i too wanted to know how to hook up the neons. right now i have my headunit and tv screen hooked up to the same power source and wanted to know if i run the neons (4 tubes) from the same source will it be a problem. i think i may have to upgrade the fuse for that source but any suggestions you can give 99njmax and i.
