hey --
what did you attach the REMOTE TURN ON wire to in your car?
did you do what RedMax did and wire BOTH the power wire and the REMOTE
wire to a switch??? I'd like to not do that...Has anyone wired in a relay???
What type of relay did you use?
THANKS!!!

thanks.
so, I'm gonna hook up the power wire to the ACC12V wire,
and then hook up the screen's "+ive turn on" to the HU's "external amp control lead" (that turns on the amp when the unit powers up).
To be honest, I am making an assumption...as I don't have a "remote turn on" labelled in the HU's wiring diagram...
I hope I'm not freaking any one out, I'm actually pretty handy...I'm just getting a li'l nervous as this is gonna be a big install...

Do not connect it to the amps turn on if you have more than one amp hooked up. because you don't want too many things connected to that lead. connect the screen to constant power at the radio and then put a switch on it

only one amp...and the screen. I'd like to avoid having a switch.
BUT, if this is not OK, I'd appreciate advice saying as much...

Typical headunit remote turn will have enough current to "turn on" 3 amps. You could always wire a SPDT relay then you will have 30AMP worth of turning power. That way you could turn on 100 amps if you want.

So that Orange wire turns on the unit and the red keeps the constant juice on? So when the HU is on then the screen is on? Because Id rather not have the screen on unless I have a Movie on... I figure the screen being on all the time isnt cool for the screen. Im confused any help please? Oh and having both the red and orange together like Red said is together on a toggle switch?

I don't see why not. To be honest, I have mine wired to the radios power wire. I spliced the constant into the radios constant, and the screen's remote turn on to the radio's ignition, but I disconnected it later on to use the remote for turning it on and off.

Ok that sounds good... So I have that option Im just nervous to start splicing stuff all over the place what did you use for a ground? But I like the "just using the remote control" Idea...
Now I just have to find a way to cut out an opening in my armrest compartment to put the DVD palyer... I guess Im using a dremel or sumthing?
