Does anyone know the mounting depth for front speakers on the 5th Gen Maximas? I was thinking about getting some speakers with a 6 7/8'' mounting depth and wanted to know if those will fit.

i think crutchfield.com can tell you the exact size. but that depth sounds like cdt cl61's which i have and i used a 1" spacer kit. or you could use 3/4 mdf and make a mounting kit yourself.

yeah it is for the cdt cl61's. Where would you get a 1" spacer kit from?

best buy. you will have to drill new holes in the door, but it takes 10 min.

but with the spacer you didn't have any trouble getting the dor put back on. I am going to buy CDT CL641 which has the 6in mid bass/4in mid range and the tweet. I am going to attempt to custom build a kick panel for the midrange. Where did you mount your crossovers at? And how do you like the sound?

wont be any problems with the door. i mounted 1 xover in the kick panel, the other behind the dash. imo they sound considerably better than my friends infinity kappas. they sound very warm and it seems like the tweeters are talking and not screaming in your ear. i cant explain it, i guess they recreate the music very naturally.
