SPL = Sond Pressure Level
SQ = Sound Quality

and to my knowledge. and how much i know (which isn't much) if you want SPL over SQ then choose a Ported/Vented enclosure.. if you want SQ over SPL then choose a sealed enclosure..

maybe i helped a tad

he started explaining it, but please provide a specific place where you need clarification.

the strict definition of SPL is sound pressure level, but it's used in a lot of places where it can be an absolute, relative, description, project goal, etc...

37hz port tuning sure as hell wont be cleaaaaan. Youd be lucky if it was clean with those subs sealed IF you want a good sounding ported setup, tune it lower. 27-32hz range. It will still boom. Audiobahn isnt exactly known for SQ, but I must admit they look pretty cool.

Holy Cra!!! When are they going to release some real specs on that thing and whose motor are they using. The highest excursion driver using the XBL2 motor is the Tumult and that is 34mm!

I knew about the tumult some time ago, but RE just came out (well sorta, thats a proto-type) The member TeamPSI of RE posted that over at CAF a few days ago but thats about all he told us about it. I dont recall RMS being mentioned but im just hoping that its a SQ/SPL sub. If so I sure as hell want one, the Brahma mkII I have does one hell of a job but that thing is just
Im not 100% if that xmax really was 48mm, I know he said it was in the mid-upper 40's somewere but its definetly in that range

I dont know how the hell I could get that thing im my trunk though The B15 I got is about the same size of that XXX15 sitting next to it.

yeah....I saw that sub a few days ago....would def like to see more final specs on it though....It is simply amazing how the Brahma and XXX are enormous in their own right....then this monster nearly doubles them in size - I believe the sub itself is ~65lbs

I went up to Seattle and visited with the Adire guys while my B12 was being reconed and had the chance to check out the Tumult as well as a few new items coming out. I thought the Tumult was pretty large, but it would be dwarfed by this monster. If it ever does come out it will probably be a competition sub priced out of this world.

I think mounting it sideways across the back of the trunk in a somewhat long sealed enclosure might just get it in there

I wouldnt say 2x, maybe 1.5x but still thats HUGE. The Brahma and XXX 15 alone look like a warhead. Im not sure how the hell there gonna mount that thing at 65lbs!! Perhapds 2, 1" thick peices of MDF or flat and fire it straight up? All I know is thats goona be loud as hell. I was actually thinking about it and even if the cost is sane (700-800is im guessing, yes thats sane) I probably still wouldnt get it. Not for the max anyway, the Brahma alone is already too much Im just getting greedy. If I want more, ill just drop it to 1ohm and triple the power but still there is no need.

Maxima Dan: Sealed!?!?! for that thing? Well sealed would fit in the max, but ported is a big hell no. That thing is gonna require atleast 6ft^3 to work with a ported setup sucking over 2Kw, so even if it does fit, its gonna have to be front fired and there will be no trunk left...like I have a trunk left

Trunk 1 Trunk 2

Fosgate Fan: I am crazy enough to get a van just to get like 4 of those in it, but
