SPL = Sond Pressure Level
SQ = Sound Quality
and to my knowledge. and how much i know (which isn't much) if you want SPL over SQ then choose a Ported/Vented enclosure.. if you want SQ over SPL then choose a sealed enclosure..
maybe i helped a tad

he started explaining it, but please provide a specific place where you need clarification.
the strict definition of SPL is sound pressure level, but it's used in a lot of places where it can be an absolute, relative, description, project goal, etc...

well i have a 12" audiobahn alum12Q subwoofer that can handle 1000watts RMS powered by an 800 watt mtx thunder 801D
overall some nice components
i'm trying to figure out what sized and tuned vented enclosure i want. i was thinking 2.5 cft. tuned to 37hz but i want something cleaaaaan but that still booms.

37hz port tuning sure as hell wont be cleaaaaan. Youd be lucky if it was clean with those subs sealed IF you want a good sounding ported setup, tune it lower. 27-32hz range. It will still boom. Audiobahn isnt exactly known for SQ, but I must admit they look pretty cool.

Im not 100% if that xmax really was 48mm, I know he said it was in the mid-upper 40's somewere but its definetly in that range

But that is one sick looking sub

yeah....I saw that sub a few days ago....would def like to see more final specs on it though....It is simply amazing how the Brahma and XXX are enormous in their own right....then this monster nearly doubles them in size - I believe the sub itself is ~65lbs

I think mounting it sideways across the back of the trunk in a somewhat long sealed enclosure might just get it in there

Maxima Dan: Sealed!?!?! for that thing? Well sealed would fit in the max, but ported is a big hell no. That thing is gonna require atleast 6ft^3 to work with a ported setup sucking over 2Kw, so even if it does fit, its gonna have to be front fired and there will be no trunk left...like I have a trunk left
Trunk 1 Trunk 2
Fosgate Fan: I am crazy enough to get a van just to get like 4 of those in it, but
