Stereo options

I just got my dad's maxima. It is a 01 gle w/ bose system. I used to have a ford taurus with a jbl system and since ford was smart and integrated it with DIGITAL climate controls, I ended up wiring up a 5 channel amp and sub with 3 line output converters off of a custom made harness. The system sounded great, 100 times better than what bose gives me with the maxima. However, my dad has made it clear that I cannot touch the bose system, I can only add a nissan cd changer if I wish. I am aware of the external cd changer available from nissan in 01, but I would rather have an indash 6. Do the 2k2-2k3 head units work seamlessly with the the 01 w/bose as well as the steering wheel controls? Do the 2k2/2k3 head units have rds? Will I have to change any panel trim around the radio or whatnot?

Also, I have a set of polk audio db3000 tweeters. I remember reading a year ago the improvements of replacing the bose tweeters with the polk audio ex2500 tweeters. Have there been any problems with those? From what I read the bose tweeters are 4ohm and I'm sure my polks are as well (I can check). If I can get some more spread in sound and less muddyness, I would be good for a couple of years until I pay my dad back for this car.

The car audio parts which it looks like are going in the closest for a couple of years are:
--MTX 5400X 5 channel amp - has good guys warranty, so I can probably trade up to a newer one.
--Image dynamics IDQ 10" in a sealed box.
--polk audio db3000 tweeters (maybe I can sneak these into the car)

What sucks is that I'm probably going to spend as much to get a used bose h/u as much it will cost to buy a far better aftermarket one, then I will only be 4 speakers away from a damn good sound system Oh well, this car is 100 times better in everyway than my ford - even dealer service!

I gave up on upgrading the bose, I can't stand the sound quality so it makes no sense to invest in it. I couldn't control myself, I just picked up an Eclipse CD8053 head unit. It was on clearance, new in box, and was the last one left at good guys. I have 30 days to decide whether or not I want to keep this. I paid $430 for it, is that a good price? From what I have read, eclipse seems to be a good company and this was their top of the line model for last year. Other than it won't play mp3's and doesn't have speaker level outputs, I know absolutely nothing about this beast. If anyone has any relevent info about it - good or bad, it would be greatly appreciated. Good thing I have 30 days to decide

Also, is the factory wiring good enough to run this headunit and my mtx 5 channel amp? I dont know if I will have funds/time to run new wires to every speaker any time soon. I have no intention to use any of the bose amps or speakers.
