5th gen sub box enclosure

Hey guys need some help. I have an 02 maxima and are trying to find some pics and setups of custom sub enclosures and amp racks. I have 2 alpine type r subs and a huge alpine 1507 amplifier mounted on the back of the box becuase there is really no place to put it. I have no way of mounting the box down so it slides all over the place. So i am really in need of some ideas of what i can do. Any suggestions or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks lv6speedmax

or you can get some long velcro strips and stick them on the bottom of your box. that should grip the carpet better and stop the sliding.

i tink its maybe just my carpet? or at leats in 5th gens? my carpet used to barely slide without velcro but the box would move. now the box with velcro makes the carpet move and today i found it all bunched up on the left side. but im working on putting wood back there and using l brackets.

maybe the thickness of the carpet maybe a factor? my carpet is decently thick, how thick are the 5th gen carpets?

thin and cheap. my box with the amp on it weighs about 90 lbs. i thought about making a custom fiberglass box in the spare tire area but i have no clue how to do that.

my box, also with the amp mounted on it, weighs about 50-60 pounds. the fiberglass box in the spare would look nice But i personally don't like the idea of driving without a spare

Here are a few pics of my setup which resides partially in the pass-through area.
The weight of the box alone keeps it in place and I know some have used "L" brackets to keep their boxes from sliding around.
More pics can be found on my webpage. I have two designs on my page, but the most current is on page 10.

lv6speedmax,

Don't screw the brackets into the cardboard or velcro the box!!! You need to permanently mount that sucker to the FLOOR so it won't move around! You don't want it sliding or tumbling during cornering, braking, or an accident. Do it right and don't take the chance. It's not that difficult. Just position the box where you want it to go and then check the metal floor and underneath the car to keep from drilling into anything important. Then just attach the L brackets to the box and then to the floor.

Good luck.

Tony
