Found cheap Dynamat alternative?

I was reading my newest copy of This Old House Magazine (okay, I'm old) and I noticed they were putting rubber flashing in the valleys of a roof and the material was self stick. It got me thinking that the stuff seems to have a lot of the properties that dynamat has (assuming you're looking for tightness, not heat resistence).

I found a product online (can't recall which one) that was 0.9mm thick and self adhesive. I looked, and dynamat is 1.7mm thick. It seems like this stuff might do a decent job is you doubled it up. It would have to be cheaper than most other stuff, I mean, they're slapping it down on roof by the roll.

Oh yeah, it's made out of EPDM rubber, which is the stuff that window gaskets and such are made out of, so it isn't like we'd be introducing some new noxious material into the car.

Johns Manville was the manufacturer.

I got this knock-off brand dynamat called sound-off - it's the same thing - much cheaper, and does the exact same job - stopped that rear deck rattle from sub.

I got two packs left-over if you're interested in purchasing them off me - PM me

I purchased some stuff of ebay called Fat Mat. I only paid like $125 for 100sq. ft. of this stuff and it came with a free roller, degreaser, and cutter. I am going to install this weekend and will let you guys know the results!!

I'd recommend raamat from http://www.raamaudio.com/ from personal use. Real real sticky so easy to put on, and puts on weight fast. Cheap too.

I have also heard great things about the liquid edead v.3 dampener.
