Since I was foolish enough not get a Bose stereo in my 5th gen, I really miss having the extra bass...so I was wondering if you guys know what would be a good sub to add to the stock 120watt premium system? I assume it's possible right?? (i know very little about stereo equipment 'cept how to listen to it!)

It is possible. If you want just a little more bass a good pair of 6x9's would do just fine but to get the best results possible you will need to add an amp. If you want to put in a sub then you will need an amp for sure. There are a fiew ways you can go, you can get an amplified bass tube which will add more bass to your system and is great if you don't want your car shaking appart. If you want to add alot more bass like 2 12" subs or 2 10" subs you should get a good head unit which has amp outs that way it will be easier to hoock up an amp. You should go to a local audio shop and tell them what you want and they should be able to help you with your listening needs.

i'm not sure if you have a metal peice that's bolted on to where the sub is suppose to go but u can get a 8" free air and mount it where the bose woulda went and it would look very clean.

He's still require an external amplifier but a simple Xtant would do the job nicely and they have a high quality speaker level input card to allow you to do this quite easily. Get a simple 10G amplifier installation kit and wire the amp up and he's set to go......

For 8" freeair speaker I suggest Kicker freeairs... won't be tremendous sub bass but you will have some impact at 100 Hz.
