Hey all. Congratulations on a great forum! I wanted to install the OEM CD changer in my AE with the BOSE stereo. I did a search, and just to confirm, in addition to the changer, I need the mounting kit and the wiring harness that goes from the head unit to the trunk? Also, is the changer cover recommended? How does it look? Thanks!

you decide...

here is the location, before cutting the carpet.

its not a retail clarion, but I think you could use mounts from a retail clarion changer to put it on the rear deck if you liked. in retrospect, I should have asked the clarion dealer if he would sell me some brackets or make some.

However, there are several times I would have had trouble getting things in the truck had I mounted it to the deck.. so....

Hey!! Are you from Hawaii? When you order the OEM changer, the harness comes with it. However, the mounting kit is extra. I don't have the changer cover, but it just meerly hides the changer from view when you open the trunk. Kinda humbug in my opinion, but then again, it keeps the dust out. I'll be doing my OEM changer install this summer, in mid-May when I get home from school (provided you're from Hawaii/O`ahu). If you wanna wait till then, then we can do it together. If not, then good luck with the install!!

Yup, I live in Honolulu. I also go by HawaiiZ32 on twinturbo.net, drive a Stage V TT. I ordered the changer, mounting kit, and $70 harness from Courtesy Nissan in TX- they told me that the harness was sold separately. Are they misinformed about this?

Kewl TT!! If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay total for the CD changer kit? The harness is in the same box as the CD changer itself, thus i figured it was a package deal. My invoice does not show an additional charge for the harness. I don't know how Courtesy does theirs, but I got mine from Southpoint Nissan. BTW I live in Kailua.

Uh, the harness should come with the changer... The mounting bracket (& kit) is about $40 extra. Unless you got the unit for cheap, there should not have been an extra charge for the wiring harness. Just for a reference, I got my unit from Courtesy Nissan in Texas (but live in Ohio) for $312.95 and the install kit for $39.95.
