i'd say don't get JL (owned a 12w6 and 12w6v2)

there's much better stuff for less money.

check out crystal, diamond, resonant engineering, elemental designs, audioque, image dynamics and the like for some nice clean loud bass

i have heard the W7, W6, and Brahma and the Brahma was by far my favorite. the W7 did have the best SQ though. AA Brahma is the best IMO for the SPL/SQ balance and it costs a lot less than the W7

I have a 13w7 and if I had to to again I would not get such a insane system. Lot of bass more than you would need. go with the w6 then you won't have to upgrade a lot of other things to handle all that power.

Disagree, I have 3 8w6's and if I hadn't upgraded all the other components of my audio system, the lower end would have drowned out everything else. The w6 series is A LOT more than you think.

cause right now my setup is
-Alpine (CDA9815)--------------------------------500.00
-JL Audio Componets 6.5 (xr650csi)----------------400.00
-JL audio 6.5 (TR650-cxi)--------------------------150.00
-JL 300/4 amp-------------------------------------500.00

then 2 complete the setup i was think about a 12 w6 with a 500/1 amp.

The w6 is definitely a good sounding woofer however I was unimpressed with it in comparison to all other subs i have owned after it.

You can get a 12" OZ audio matrix elite online for about $210 new shipped. THis sub is loud and the SQ is amazing.

Get a Memphis MC500D amp to power it $235 new shipped

That's less than $450 for a sub/amp combo that will sound very nice indeed
