HUGE system install, Six 6.5 speakers, Four tweets, 2 subs, 3 amps TV Any sugestions?

Before I undertake this massive install, are there any tips you guys could give me? I plan on doing this all in one day, waking up at 7:30am, and working into the night. I have a few great idea's, in which I do not think anyone has on the org. Hopefully they turn out the way I plan. but since this is a still a new car (I am used to 4th gens) i do not know all the ropes. My only main concern is running the spreaker wire for the tweeters. i do no know how to get the wire from the front door sil's to where i can use them. any thoughts?

I have many other plans audio/video wise for the car as well. I am getting a 7inch mirco vision tv from redmax soon, and i am going to be doing a lot of custom work to make it fit where I want it. but this will wait untill i get the tv. (obviously) And I am just about ready to buy a ps2/all the required hardware as well, and come up with an ingenious idea for placement.

and finally, for plans with my trunk, it will be simple, yet very custom. the trunk will be the last step. both the trunk and interior work require plexiglass, and that stuff is not cheap. but i have enough to work with for my main install starting tuesday. i will be taking many pictures along the way. i will keep you guys posted.

and sorry for the lack of details, but i wish to keep my ideas underwraps untill i post pics in a few days! wish me luck.

Dynamat. Lots of it. You will need to pad the hell out of the rear deck.

I recommend that when you do this install do it in parts!!

Don't remove all the panels at once..

Start off by laying the wires for the amps, and install the amps first... Ensure that you get signal.. and that power is owrking.

THen move to the doors, installe the components... Use a radio reciever or something, and just see if your amps and components are working..

NEXT do the deck install..

What ever order you do, don't make the mistake of taking everything apart and trying to rush to get everything done at once... 9 times out of ten you won't be able to finish everything, especially if you want the job done right.

Its a b!tch to remove everything, and then having 10000 screws laying around, ... Completing one section at a time is the best, and safeest way to get the system in..

The factory A-pillar is a pretty good spot, you'll probably have to take the fenders off if you want to wire them into the door. The wire loom going into the door is pretty tight.

Taking the L front wheel off will make it a lot easier to get the power cable ran though the firewall.

I never run a rear stage. I come from the IASCA and USAC camp when it comes to system design. One of my cars took second in the Pro class at the only USAC event I ever went to, when I was still in high school! I wasn't really pro but if you are in the industry you are considered Pro class.

A set of components and one or two subs is more than enough to build a high quality setup. What is more important than your components, is your ability to install the mids properly. IMO, the mids are THE most important part of the installation. If the mids aren't right, the system will never sound good. I don't see how you would use 6 mids in a Max unless you have kicks, but in that case I'd go with a 6, 4, tweet on a 3 way passive crossover.

On my system, I have one 12, and a set of MB Quart components. 600 watts on the components and 200 watts on the sub.

Realistically, it's not getting done in 1 day.

Whoa, lots of questions... ok, i will try my best to answer all of them.

First about the extra 6.5 speakers...

i am not putting them in the rear deck. i am doing some custom work. but... i stoped by my local tweeter store today and told them my idea. after much talk about it and picturing what it will look like, i may not do it. it is a good idea, but it may look out of place. i am still thinking about it.

my original plan was to add a second pair of 6.5's in the front door pockets. i was going to cut a hole right next to the factory speaker, and use the grill that comes with the speaker. but then after talking about it, it may look funny. the speaker grill will stick out, which will attact the eye... but maybe not in a good way. my other idea for the front pockets was that after i install the speaker, i would get a peice of plexiglass, and mold it to the opening of the crack so it is see thru. also, i bought some 9inch neon lights so it would light up. it will very cool, but i still have to think about it. i may have to do A LOT more fabrication to make it work... and it will not be done in one day... maybe not even one week.

2k2PhatMax - I already have all this stuff, it is sitting in my room waiting for the install tomorrow.

cobymoby - thanks for the tips, i will be sure to remember those for tomorrow.

MiniRX7 - yes, i have learned this from previous installs... it gets overwhelming when your car is torn apart, and you are just standing there with wires in you hand. lol.

I had another question, but i forgot it. it will come to me.

All you need up front is "clean power" with a good set of components

Too many coaxes/3ways will sound too busy in there......and your SQ will suffer....I strongly encourage you too return
two sets of speakers and get yourself a set of separates and probally save some $$$- Components will give you better soundstage for the sound of your multimedia also.

so you think i sould just forget about it then? i hae seen it done in other cars, i thought it looked pretty cool, but was not too sure how it would have sounded.

Maybe i should just forget it. but now i have another idea... maybe i will put my crossovers in the pockets with the blue neons and the plexi glass top. i don't know, i will have to take a look.

Yes, forget about out it- you'll get some good components for the price you paid for those extra 2 pairs of coaxes- besides the rattle that would come along from that speaker being mounted in the pocket the crossover/neon project sounds cool- mos def look into it

well, i already have very good componets (seperate woofer and tweet)... i have the top of the line polks... $379 a pair. and i have two way polks in the rear doors, which are the model below.

the extra 6.5 woofers came from a previous install, which are only one year old, but when i installed them on my last car, i dilled a hole on my front door panels to mount the tweeter, and when i sold the car i had to leave the tweeters in so i would have this huge hole in the door. so i was left with only the 6.5 woofer, and not crossover/tweeters. so i figured i would incorporate them somehow into the new install. but i guess i will just forget about it.

maybe some time down the line. i am also debating if i should screew the crossover/neon in, or if i should use 3m double sided tape. the tape will reduce rattles, but the screews will be stronger. maybe i should do both.

i think one cap should be fine, i have digital alpine amps, and they give out reading on how the amp is doing... such as temp, amps, and volts. when i put my system all the way up on a very bassy song, i see how many volts the amps are getting. the amps are getting at the very least 11 volts, and the cap should more then make up for that. but that is with out my 3rd amp hooked up, but i am sure it will be fine

and also, i want to do something like your trunk, actually my idea is very similar to yours.

well, i have a 500 watt alpine 4ch amp... 500 watts divided by 4, = 125 per ch.

it should be more then good for the speakers.

how do you like your MOMO speakers? do they sound good? anything to compare them to? i am very anxious to get all of this installed... i can't wait!
