does pioneer premier still hold its own??

hey there, im lookin to replace the 6x9's in my 90 maxima, and altho i used to be really big in the audio scene about 3 years ago, ive since then fell off and dont really know whos makin qaulity stuff and whos garbage. ive found these premiers on ebay.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...095983971&rd=1 tell me what you think about em and i might splurge on the 50 dollars and get them. pretty impressive theyve made a 4 way speaker at a reasonable price like that, and the fac tthat their only rated at 80 watts rms doesnt bug me any becuase i wont be running them with an amp any time soon. thanks for any imput yall have

i wouldnt buy em but alot of people wouldnt buy the sony xplod either and i love em.

pioneer/ sony speakers and amps are garbage

if you broke $55 for these speakers is fair
they will be an upgrade from stock speakers, nothing more

if you have more money to spend get something better


try these if you r on the budget, these will sound much better

i have some pioneer tri ax, and they are awsome. sure there are some speakers that are far better than pioneer but it just depends how much you have to spend.

the premiers are great speakers they are a lot better than plain pioneers. when you spend money on premier they deliver. i have never herd a louder sub than their TS-W1500. check this link out for the pioneer haters.

what kind of speakers do you have? probably stock huh?

infinity kappa components up front
infinity kappa 3 ways in the back
JL 2 12w3v2 for the subs
JL 500/1 mono sub amp
rocford fosgate 400.4 for the speakers

personally i would get these i have the 6.5's and 6.75's of the REV series in my car, they sound awesome, super clear and crisp

who cares what he has, he could have stock bose and still have an opinoin on what someone else wants no big deal, if u like pioneer or xplod then fine, enjoy it, if u dont then fine too

Word. For $50 those Pioneers are a good deal. But if you can fork over some extra cash, there are lots of better options.

I have never been a fan of the Premier line. Whether it be the speakers, or the head units. Back in the early, middle nineties Pioneer was a middle of the road audio brand. There have been many more brands that have surpassed Pioneer's mediocre audio performance. I have always been one to save, save save money for the higher end brands, than to settle for lesser things just because I had to have something.
