help, 4th gen sub install with bose hu...
So last night me and my friend run cable through my car and set up a kicker 600.1 and jbl cvr, setting it up with my stock Bose HU with the PAC AOEM-NIS2. Here's the problem. The amp comes on when the power antenna goes up. So it's only on with the radio. On the input to the OEM-1 adapter there is a blue wire that goes into the amp remote pin and NOTHING that goes into the power antenna pin. One the output of the oem-1 it is the same way. The power antenna doesn't need an external wire. Everything should be working, why is this happening? I would prefer to have the amp come on automatically with the system and not have to install a switch. I'm thinking I should try tapping another wire, anyone had this happen? I've tried to find info on this and couldn't get anything, please im me if you know how to fix this.
i had the same problem, except i had a sony head unit, and it wouldnt power the amp unless the radio was on, and not the Cd. We had to tap a power wire for the amp so it would come one, the bad part was the Antenna was always up even when listening to a Cd.
I fixed this about 10pm last night. I was looking at the wires that split the bose signal out to the oem-1 adapter and to bose hu... and I noticed that the wire there was hooked up to the wire that should be the power antenna (blue) instead of the one that was most likely remote amp (blue w/ white strip) but I could not find the Bose hu pin layout online. I decided to just hook it up and it works great. Amp and sub turn on and off with stereo. I'm going to talk to PAC and see if my adapter was incorrectly made or if they have a design flaw.
