Got a 97 SE not really sure if i wanna go with a double din or a single din. I know there's really not that many options in the double din catagory. What models do u guys recomend...I was lookin @ the Kenwood KDC-8017 or the Pioneer DEH-P7200R...haven't really seen any double din radios that i liked

I had a double-din 3 disc changer/tape and I was happy with it, but it was too bright. I switched to the Sony 750 which is single din and thought it would look weird, but I like it better. (see pic) I have a problem with my deck and I decided to switch to the Kenwood. Also, the kenwood mounts perfectly flush with the dash so it looks good. So, go Kenwood, nice diplay too.

From a personal standpoint, I would go with Kenwood, Nakamichi, or Eclipse. I have an Eclipse and it blends rather well with the dash.

I currently have the bose stock system. Its a double din tape/cd deck. I want to change to maybe an mp3 cd player or something. Kenwood, Awia, and Sony, make nice ones, but they're all single din. I hear is somewhat of a pain to change the stock bose head systems to an aftermarket one. You need adapters and such. Is this very costly?

I really don't think its that much of a hassle to switch. I had to but a BOSE adapter for $50-70 and a $15 mounting kit, that was it.

Anyone know how a MP3 deck (like from Kenwood) would sound on a Bose system's stock speakers? I'm highly tempted to get one of those second generation Car MP3 players.

To me the ultimate double din is http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...HP8800&o=M&a=0
A little pricy at $1,000 though.

yea i do.. I have a clarion 6.4" Screen in place of bose head unit, then i have a clarion headunit i think it is something 716Z which jus came out in 2001 with a motorized face. Also i have a 6-Disc clarion changer in my glove box custom mounted, and i have a apex dvd/mp3 player under my passenger side seat. The reason for me switching to clarion from sony m600 was that clarion has an AUX input which i DEFINETLY needed! wat year max u have and wat u have on it?

later

Is that a Sony Double DIN player? I have seen it on sale on some sites (Before I got my Maxima) and liked its looks, but now I can't find it anymore. Where did you buy it, and how much did you pay for it?

Alpine MDA-W750

Why go single din. I don't need another pocket in my dash and the double din units are pretty impressive when you look at them. Especially the Alpine that I bought. I was in the market for a head unit for about 1 year before I found this one and I love it. I replaced everything else (speakers, amps) before replacing the head unit. Mini disk and Cd in dash what more could you ask for.
