Need Mp3 Player Help!

My car came stock with the BOSE system and to make it short, it sucks. I am looking for a good mp3 player that doesnt skip that much (because that makes me ****ed) and price isnt an option. What would you suggest AND if I change the headunit and use the same bose speakers will I be able to add an amp and sub set up without tapping the rear speakers and running straight off the headunit? THANKS SO MUCH AUDIO GUYS > ME

On MP3 players, none of the flash memory type players will ever skip, they do not use anything mechanical for data storage. The only problem is capacity, they just do not hold very much. So for a car you would have to go with one based on a harddrive. I have used the Creative Labs Zen and the IPod 15gig, never had a problem with them skipping. Just get you a good quality mp3 player. Creative Labs, IRiver, Rio Audio, IPod - are a couple of brands that I would recommend. A couple of months ago I replaced my head unit with an Alpine 9835 and I am waiting for the IPod interface to come out, so that I can control the Ipod from the head unit. I am looking at getting the new 20 gig Ipod to replace my old one. Another one that has caught my attention are the ones by SSI America, it is made for use in the car. You might want to check them out.

As for replacing your headunit, if you are going to do that, replace the speakers. The Bose speakers are worthless, get real speakers.

Use that along with your new HU. Make sure you get a HU that has 3 preouts or a seperate subwoofer output. THen you can have control over the sub without splicing into the rear speaker harness. I suggest...
