What do you think of this unit for '98?

-originally posted in the wrong-

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/pr...productId=2557

since my bose cd player isn't working and there is no option to add xm radio (only through the radio), i was thinking about replacing the HU. The single-din units will probably leave the ugly hole that can not be covered nicely, so i am thinking about this double-din unit. I know that i need some sort of "pac" adapter, but other then that will this work with bose set-up? is this a good thing to purchase for around $900? and maybe someone knows where this can be purchased cheaper?

Nice unit, still going for 950-1000 on ebay too. Nicer unit, more expensive though...

THis version (without navigation) is cheaper...

you can plug in a sirius tuner to it. it will have controls for it, but you will not be able to use it with xm, unless you get a plug and play unit, like a delphi roady2, for example.

You can GROUND the parking brake wire. Do not send it to power.

Eclipse units are definately the better buy, but theyre are Absolutely NO Online Sales of them. Especially Ebay.

finally purchased this. the cheapest price was $1025 shipped, $40 for satalite radio tuner, about $30 for the antenna, and $60 for the adaptor. i will also get that pop-out tray for $55 to make things look nicer.

Since it was bought from an online store...warranty would suck being that there really isnt one....

.. In this case, could even be one of those "fell off the back of a truck" stores. Considering you paid less than I do as a dealer.

No sir. ALOT of my customers learn the hardway..

Read here for more info on Kenwoods policies

Kenwoods online dealers and Policies

I have in fact seen Kenwood and many other companies keep the products you send in due to the fact of unathorized sales, but mostly due to altered serial numbers, fake equiptment,etc...And yes they do have this right.

You pay more for a product from a local store of course. As they have mouths to feed, employees to pay, utility bills,etc...But you get personal service and actually see who your buying from. Of course warranty issues can be brought right back to them, and in alot of cases and exchange is immediately provided.

If they sent you exactly what you ordered, then fraud wouldnt be the case. I have also seen this many times. Even way back before the internet when people ordered things via the mail with phone or catalog orders.

Your credit card company can only protect if what you recieved is not what you intended to purchase.
