System Setup

I've recently installed a DVD/MP3 Headunit and a 7" Flush TV screen. For the Headunit I used a $25 Bose Adaptor kit. What I've noticed since then is that the sound is nowhere near as loud as it was when I had the Bose in. Also, I didn't hear/get it at first, but now I have Alternator whine coming in through the speakers. My friend gave me a supressor though. Now, if I was to wire that do you guys think it would really work OR if I changed all of the stock System altogether (which I AM going to do...well, trying) would the sound automatically dissapear? On the other side of things, as I just previously said I'm tryin to finish the whole audio/video system setup soon. I been planning on getting (4) 6-3/4 Polk db Series Speakers (using stock Front A-Pillar Tweeters and installing rear B-Pillar Polk Component Tweeters, a Kicker 8" 0r 10" Solobaric L5 mounted in the trunk whole, facing into the car and a Lanzar Viberant Vibe428 Amp. Does anybody know where I can find good speaker wire and amp wire to run all of this? I hear Skosche is good, but I dont know about anything else and where can I get good deals on the stuff. Also, if you know anywhere I can get any of those for cheap other than ikesound, crutchfield, cardiscountstereos.com, etc. then please let me know. Thanks guys.

PS: Also, do you think that one Sub will make a lot of rattlin and what is the perfect fit? I measured corner to corner 12" but side to side and top to bottom at 9 inches...So would a square 8" fit better or 10"...?

I think the reason why there was so little, is that you have so many questions and bounce around alot to different subjects. I can answer the suppressor question, that was already in covered in a thread

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=327166

For the subs. SEmy2K2go has 3 8"s in his car. http://www.cardomain.com/id/semy2k2go

I'm not sure for your gen, but you might be able to adjust your latch mechanism on your trunk, pulling it down more. Keeping it from rattling.

I know it's a pain trying to look through all the threads for the info you want. But next time try not to ask so much in one paragraph. Break it up into a 2 or 3 paragraphs, asking exactly what you want to know. Makes it easier for everyone.

Good luck with your system

is the adapter adjustable? what kind of head unit is it? try the suppressor depending on where ur sound is coming from u may or may not still have it with the rest of the components replaced go to walmart for good wiring kits go for a 4 gauge kit and get a spool of wire too. thats all the help i can offer for now

also dont buy the stuff off those places, get it from an authorized dealer if u dont u may end up getting burned....

Well, the adaptor isn't the so-called SoundGate Adaptor that everyone seems to be talking about, if that's what you're referring to. It's simply a wiring harness to connect the Bose wiring harness to the Aftermarket one, so I didn't have to individually cut and splice each wire.

When I had the Bose Double Din Headunit in, I loved the sound and loudness of the speakers, but since switching Headunits, the speakers aren't as loud. I'd rather not get a system, but I don't know what to do to regain the loudness back. Do I have to bypass the amps in each speaker or as previously stated, buy that SoundGate Adaptor?

My sound I suppose is coming from my speakers because when I turn off the Headunit, the noise goes away completely. Also, thanks for your suggestions man.

how are the bose speakers getting their signal? if it is from the pre-outs of the headunit u may want to re do that and run rcas from the head unit to the line level inputs on the harness.

Ay man, I'm kinda confused is there anyway I can meet up with you one day and you can just take a quick look at it and tell me what you think? I asked my friend, but he doesn't really know about the whole Maxima/I30 Bose System setups. If you can that would be great. BTW, I'm like 20 min from Rutgers
