Removing antenna mast...I'm stumped.

Guys, I'm new to this part of the org, but I've tried posting this question in the 4th gen's and haven't gotten the response that I need. Someone snapped my antenna mast, so I bought a replacement, found out how to remove the mounting nut, but because the mast wasn't connected to a motor-driven cable, I couldn't uninstall the original antenna the "easy way". So after following these directions http://www.carstereohelp.org/DoItYou...ssanPwrAnt.htm I have the antenna motor assembly completely away from the car. I cannot pull that damn mast out of the antenna housing (that silver pipe sticking out of the motor assembly), I've tried with all my might (that sounds corny, but it's true). Please help me out on some kind of tip, I wanna have this thing fixed.
