sound problems

Since I changed my headunit out i've lost a lot of quality. I bought the adapter(forgot name) for the speakers but still a noticable loss in quality and loudness. I was wondering what I could do about this.

Also I want to build my own box for my subs. I was wondering if it would be worth it costwise to do so.

Was you're original stock setup the BLOSE™? Are you running BLOSE™ speakers?

There is an issue with you're wiring. How is you're headunit feeding its signal to the bose amps?

The headunit is feeding the signal through an oem(i think) adapter. I don't know what to do cause this sucks

You would be better off installing your own amplifier to power the stock bose speakers. Or run your own speaker wire from the HU to the speakers & bypass the bose amp's altogether if you do not want to install a amplifier to power the high's.

These wont work with the stock Bose speakers as they run at 2Ohms. The HU will not take the load. If he adds an amp then it would be more benficial to just change the speakers at that time as well.

Sure they will work, I used my stock bose speakers for a long time hooked up to a aftermarket HU & after that hooked up to an amplifier. Never blew them, never had equiptment failure or over heating, nothing. They are not the best, but they will work. By the way the Bose speakers run at 1-1/2 Ohms.

Then I must say, you have been a very lucky soul. They run slightly under 2Ohms, but not at 1. With that being said you should know that a HU should never be given that load. I would be curious to know which one you ran as well as the amp that handled a 1.5 Ohm load in stereo that you used.

I ran Eclipse HU model# CD8443 & PPI amplifier model# 5440. Never had any problems. I'm not saying this is the best setup, but when your strapped for money, it can work. By the way, It sounded very clean, no distortion at all.
